The weather finally has cleared up enough (that means the ground has dried) to where construction has begun on the erection of our building (shop and RV Port) last Wednesday. In fact we are expecting it to be finished by tomorrow – the guys are so far behind due to the weather, they are trying to catch up. You can always check on the latest progress of the building by going to our photo gallery.
John now has our permanent Internet satellite dish mounted on the roof of the house and we now only need to move the satellite modem from the coach to the house or vice versa. When we take off in the coach, we just need to move one little box for our Internet access there. We bought a king size bed several days ago so we are now finally sleeping in the house. Yesterday we bought a little dining table and two chairs so we don’t have to balance our plates in our laps anymore! Life is getting a little easier around here!
We tried another new church a couple of Sundays ago, First Baptist Church of Ingram. We like the pastor and we will give it another try tomorrow.
So what’s all this about John “getting the point?” Late last Saturday afternoon John fell off of a step stool while attaching satellite dish cables to the roof eve and hit the back of his head on something – we aren’t sure what. There was a three inch gash, a fair amount of leaking blood, and a very large goose-egg but in spite of this he claimed he was fine and didn’t want to go the the hospital. About three hours later after Jane cut away some hair and actually got to see the laceration, we were off to our first visit to the Kerrville emergency room. The point John “got” was six staples closing his wound. Fortunately there was no concussion or other manifestations of problems – Praise God!
PS: We were very distressed to hear about the tornado damage in Central Florida, some of it only a couple of miles from our previous house. We will pray for restoration and comfort for those affected.
