What’s that WHITE stuff?

Lucky us – we are only at our new place for about six weeks when we get to experience a fairly rare event in the Texas Hill Country – frozen precipitation.  We had frozen rain, sleet, snow, drizzle, and various combinations for about two days.  The temperatures dropped and remained below freezing for three or four days.  Fortunately we were forewarned and drove the coach (through our brand new gates!)  to get our propane tank filled last Friday, we filled the fresh water tank and prepared to be shut-ins for a few days.  The weather performed as predicted and travel

All dressed in white!

was way too dangerous until yesterday.  Everything did well except our water lines were frozen somewhere from the pump house to the house.  No big issue because we were running off of our coach water tank.

As this event dragged on we were beginning to be more concerned about running out of water and propane but yesterday everything thawed out nicely and we filled our water tank and were able to switch back to the heat pump and save our propane.  The heat pump only works down to temperatures in the low 40s or high 30s – it is necessary to use the propane furnace to keep our coach toasty warm in colder weather.
