The morning of the November 30th brought with it an Arctic cold front…better known as “A blue Norther”! The wind was blowing around 20 mph and the temperatures were around 30 F. We drove to the Ranch we would hopefully be the proud owners of with our Realtor for a “walk-through” before going later to sign all the papers for the closing.
After 4PM, when we didn’t hear otherwise, we figured that we were property owners again in Jane’s home state of Texas! The next morning, John went out to the ranch to check the property (there was a hard freeze with temperatures in the 20s expected and we turned on outside faucets to keep from freezing). At ten we departed Buckhorn Lake RV Resort to officially take up residence at our new property. We knew the gate to the property would be a challenge, but little did we know how long it would take us to meet that challenge! The gate is 120” wide and our RV is 102” wide! The entry to the gate is not much wider, and it is not set back very far from the road…But John rose to the challenge…and 15 minutes later was in the gate, but then, where to park? After some tree trimming, some 15-20 minutes later, we got parked with the jacks down and slides out! Thank you, Lord for this lovely part of Texas and for getting us here safely (and without green paint scrapes down the sides of the coach)!
We’ve met some of our neighbors today, walked our land and feel so blessed to be here! We are looking forward to enjoying our time here…and it will be even better when we get some furniture to go in the house! For the time being, we are living in our RV and of course that is already “home” to us!
