Shorn Locks for “Locks of Love”

Jane with her new hairdo (or lack of)

After letting her hair grow for a number of years, Jane was finally was able to grow a pony tail long enough to send in to “Lock’s of Love” which is an organization which makes wigs for children who have lost their hair for one reason or another. After Jane came home from a visit to the hair stylist on Saturday after cutting off about 10 inches of hair, John’s face was a sight to behold! He had never seen Jane with such short hair (and neither had she)!! Speechless for about 24 hours, he finally commented that it looked like her head was involved in an industrial accident!

Jane has a friend who has donated to this organization several times (her hair grows at an accelerated rate…probably due to hair growth hormones, ha!). Jane said that once in her life, she wanted to do this, and now she has!

John has been busy organizing and building in his workshop since the beginning of the New Year, and is presently drawing up plans to build some shelving and drawers in our little office here in the house. He is all excited about getting his dust collection unit in this Thursday!

We had a really nice time with Jane’s brother and his wife in their lovely home in Austin for Christmas, and time was spent with their three daughters, son-in-law, and grandson. We had some really marvelous food and fun, but of course the best thing was just being with them! Oh, and of course, I must mention their two Corgis, Max and Frank who greeted us last year and this year on December 25th with their “jingle collars”!

The beginning of the year always brings football, and John has watched just about every game (Jane usually is right by his side on the couch)! He will probably be suffering withdrawal pains within the next couple of weeks, though.

We wish you a very happy and healthy 2008! Gad, it just seems like it was 2000! As they say…whoever “they” are…time flies when you’re having fun!
